That is right. As the family grows that's when it is time to look at using professional movers. Now I'm not saying that my company doesn't do a ton of college students at the end of the semester, but those are usually the parents paying. At some point moving with professionals makes sense though this is not always the case. We try to help the customer make the best decision for them and not us. Repeat business and referrals is what it's all about. Best of luck to you.

I think moving green has become more mainstream in the last year since this post was originally written as more consumers are searching out ways to relocate with a smaller carbon footprint. Renting moving boxes made from plastic is a far greener and convenient way to pack and move your belongings than using traditional cardboard moving boxes. They can be reused hundreds of times (unlike cardboard which can be reused a maximum of 3 times before they break down) and don't require tape (and are delivered pre-assembled). If you are moving green in San Francisco, Oakland, or San Jose you can get plastic moving boxes delivered to you by ZippGo.

Most of the movers used to go with the lowest estimates and repent. In fact one should get few reviews from those who have experience in moving. It will surely help the movers. This article speaks about the same. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience.

Great article I like the idea of giving it to a repair shop so they can salvage spare parts off of it, but would have to say that donating is the best especially if it still operates.

Graduation season may have ended, but before you know it kids will be moving back to school. According to the Journal of College Admissions, new students move an average of 94 miles away from their family homes to attend college. Whether you’re teaching your freshman to be financially fit or prepping your college senior for the real world, Wells Fargo offers a number of tools and products to make the move simple.

o	Where is that social security card, birth certificate, passport?
While in the process of packing/unpacking, make sure you can access copies of important documents. Secure, online storage solutions like Wells Fargo vSafe Service allow you to access your records digitally (mom can keep track of the hard copies).

o	Rent, Coffee, Books, Bills, Gas, Pizza
Your priorities change when you get to college and so should your budget since you may be paying for things you’ve never had to pay for before or the cost of living may be different at college than in your hometown. Try an online budgeting tool like Wells Fargo’s My Spending Report with Budget Watch if you’re already swamped in paper.

o	Take Advantage of Automatic Alerts
College may be the first time you’re responsible for paying your own bills. With all of the other deadlines you’re keeping track of (tests, sports games, assignments due), why not let your bank help keep you on track? Wells Fargo’s Rapid Alerts for Wells Fargo Visa credit card account holders enables consumers to better manage and track their spending while providing them with an early warning system for potential fraudulent activities. Receive free, timely alerts about your account transactions and bills sent right to your email or wireless device.

o	Splitting the Costs
If you’re like most college students, you’re splitting expenses with your parents and perhaps with roommates as well. Many banks make it easy to transfer money between accounts online and even by phone, so you can pay people back quickly (where is that checkbook again??) or ask for a little help while on the road.

o	Multitask
As soon as you’re unpacked, set up automatic bill pay. The first semester of college is hectic and you don’t want to miss a payment. Like a grade point average, your credit score stays with you forever.

o	Mobile Banking Makes it Easy
Use your mobile phone to check available balances, make transfers to new roommates, or find an ATM near you. With more than 12,000 ATMs across North America, chances are your college pad is as close to a Wells Fargo or Wachovia ATM as it was before the move. It might be the smartest thing your smart phone has ever done.

If you are interested, I’d be happy to set you up with a Wells Fargo expert. For more information please visit https://www.wellsfargo.com/home_center/selling/articles/cis_hc_atcl_movingchecklist.

Best,
